THE OXFORD PLACEMENT TEST |
Students wishing to be considered for enrolment for
the YIUS/AIUS Pre-University Programs are required
to take a placement test. We use the Oxford
Placement Test (OPT). This test will determine your
level of English.
The test is divided into 2 sections: A and B. The
OPT is a multiple choice test. Students must answer
200 questions. The first 100 questions make up part
A and are listening questions. The student must tick
one of two choices: A or B. In part B of the test,
questions 101-200 are reading questions.
The student’s writing ability is assessed by YIUS/AIUS,
based on a written essay. Students will have a
choice of one of two topics for their one-page
essay.
Each student gets a score out of 200. Their score,
as well as their mark for essay writing, indicates
their English level.
