Fundamentals of Business

This module introduces students to basic business vocabulary and concepts, and the importance of business studies, by considering the issues involved in starting a small business.

Fundamental Communication Skills

The module introduces the basic skills of listening, reading, note taking, summarising, writing and speaking needed for studying in a higher education context.

These skills will be developed through a focus on simple texts and by preparing, conducting and reporting on an interview and being an interviewee. Attention will also be given to cross-cultural understanding.

Fundamental Mathematics and Statistics

This module develops an understanding and application of selected basic mathematical and statistical concepts and tools in preparation for more detailed study in the standard Certificate IV in Business mathematics and statistics modules.
